Наша счастливая нищета и стихи. Я помню, мы шли из бани, купив не то яйца, не то сосиски. Ехал воз с сеном. Было еще холодно, и я мерзла в своей куртке (так ли нам предстоит мерзнуть: я знаю, как тебе холодно). И я запомнила этот день: я ясно до боли поняла, что эта зима, эти дни, эти беды - это лучшее и последнее счастье, которое выпало на нашу долю.

Каждая мысль о тебе. Каждая слеза и каждая улыбка - тебе. Я благословляю каждый день и каждый час нашей горькой жизни, мой друг, мой спутник, мой милый слепой поводырь...

Мы как слепые щенята тыкались друг в друга, и нам было хорошо. И твоя бедная горячешная голова и все безумие, с которым мы прожигали наши дни. Какое это было счастье - и как мы всегда знали, что именно это счастье.

При помощи РПЦ советское как бы вернулось в российское, которым и было порождено. В результате российское стало более злокачественным, гротесковым.

Вторичный концентрат, исторический отстой, в котором причудливо перемешаны и Московское царство, и романовская империя, и СССР – вот что такое путинская Россия. Роль РПЦ в ее формировании огромна – она сопоставима лишь с аналогичной ролью КГБ, с которым церковь связана теснейшим образом еще с 20-х годов. На это прямо указывала Рussy Riot, когда пела про «черные рясы, золотые погоны», ставя рядом с именем Путина имя Гундяева.

"Vuoto de luna," "la luna vacia de curso," "la lune vide de course," "Es ist Mondpause!" The "Void" Moon is something that astrologers are only re-discovering. Ancient Roman astrologers placed great importance on it, but it was long forgotten ... but not by the priests of Antinous!

It occurs when the Moon is "between signs" ... that is, it has finished its two-and-a-half-day visit to one astrological sign and has just finished making the last aspect to one of the major planets ... and nothing will happen until the moon enters the next sign.

It is a perfect opportunity for sitting back and taking a good look at your situation and meditating on how you might be able to improve things.

We like to compare it to a rock concert when the star has just finished a set and goes off stage.

Think of Antinous the Moon God as a rock star back stage between sets ... psyching himself up for the next set. He invites you to sit with him in his dressing room and reflect on how the last set went ... and you both take a deep breath, enjoy a cigarette, you help him wipe the sweat off his brow, give him a quick drink of water, help him do a quick costume change ... and psych himself for the next set.

That's the essence of the VOID OF COURSE Moon ... back stage between sets ... with Antinous the Rock Star!

Famed American classical pianist Van Cliburn died Wednesday at age 78, at the home he shared with Thomas L. Smith, according to The New York Times.
From The Times obit:

As a young man, Mr. Cliburn was briefly linked romantically with a soprano classmate from Juilliard. But even then he was living a discreet homosexual life. His discreetness was relaxed considerably in 1966 when, at 32, he met Thomas E. Zaremba, who was 19.

The Times then reports how in 1995 Zaremba sued Cliburn for millions of dollars in palimony. The suit was dismissed because the former couple had nothing in writing to support their domestic partnership, according to
The Times.
The Associated Press obituary doesn't mention Cliburn's sexual orientation or his partners:

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Van Cliburn, the internationally celebrated pianist whose triumph at a 1958 Moscow competition helped thaw the Cold War and launched a spectacular career that made him the rare classical musician to enjoy rock-star status, died Wednesday after a fight with bone cancer. He was 78.
Cliburn died at his home in Fort Worth surrounded by loved ones, said his publicist and longtime friend Mary Lou Falcone.

A ceremony in honor of the opening of a Russian cultural center in Puerto Rico took place in San Juan on Tuesday.

The gem of the newly opened center is its rich library which has thousands of books, including textbooks, reference books and works by Russian literary classics.

The center’s cinema house offers a wide collection of films about Russia while its computer rooms provide visitors with comprehensive information about the Russian history and culture and the country’s political and social life.

Speakers at the opening ceremony said that the center should provide Russian children adopted by Puerto Ricans with an opportunity to learn more about Russia and maintain connection with their homeland.

For the first time since the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Russian diaspora is no longer viewed as necessarily anti-Communist or hostile to the Kremlin. Moscow now actively seeks to curry favor with its emigrants and make them its emissaries. Using its embassies, government websites, and a network of establishments that promote Russian language and culture, its efforts to use public diplomacy to bring the Russian diaspora back into the Russian world are growing. Intelligence experts indicate, however, that since the days of the USSR, such efforts have been closely linked to Russia’s intelligence activities, including talent-spotting, recruitment, and operations of human intelligence (HUMINT) assets.

Russia is also monitoring and manipulating its domestic social media. The government leadership understands that social networking is one of the freest modes of exchange between Russians and the outside world, and it does not want to lose control of the message that Russia is a great power.

Organizations that track global Internet freedom have documented growing intimidation from Moscow of those who are critical of the Kremlin online.[51]

Without a strategy to counteract this increasingly aggressive campaign to win hearts and minds, the United States will continue to find its own messages poorly received by Russians and its interests undermined.
